The SK48v100 can be used with a standard 19″ EIA server rack, or two variants of custom racks designed by SOK. Current offerings include a standard 4 slot rack, and an upgraded 5 slot rack which will be available in July 2022.

The custom racks for the SK48v100 are shipped disassembled, however are quite easy to assemble with a #3 Phillips screwdriver or a 10mm hex driver. We have provided the following video to demonstrate the assembly process:

Rack Installation

We highly recommend anchoring the rack to the ground, as without anchors it could topple over which could cause serious injury and damage not covered by warranty. When anchoring into concrete, we suggest a 3/8″ wedge anchor embedded at least 2 inches into the concrete. For anchoring into wood, we suggest at least a 3/8″ x 1 1/2″ lag bolt, preferably into a floor joist. Always follow the fastener’s direction for pre-drilling and torque spec. Anchor the rack before installing the batteries, as they will block the access required for fastener installation.

A few tips for assembly & Rack installation:

  • Assemble with screws loose to allow for minor adjustment during rack assembly, then tighten everything at the end when all rack components are in-place.
  • Start the screws by hand to prevent cross-threading.
  • Install the square nuts into the rack before installing the batteries, as the batteries block the accessibility needed to install the nuts.

Rack Assembly Bolt Tightening Torque

While a torque wrench isn’t critical, if using one we recommend a torque of 4 N·m (44.2 in.-lbf) for all bolts securing the rack together.
